GLEN’S BIOGRAPHY
Glen is a committed and experienced teacher of performing arts to both students and professional actors wanting to further explore their craft. Having originally trained as an actor, it was some years later that his career took on a new direction. His love of exploration and discovery in the rehearsal process saw him venture into his current career as a teacher and director.
Since following this journey, Glen has been actively involved in training actors from beginners right up to professionals, in all levels of community, and tertiary education. His teaching philosophy draws on his extensive training and experience with a primary focus on the actors personal connection and holistic embodiment of the work, overcoming blocks to organic flow and developing clearer channels to their innate creativity and talents.
In the industry, Glen has been involved in the development of training curriculums as a board of studies member, facilitated training programs in the corporate sector, as well as judging positions for various theatre festivals and in 2012 was chosen as industry judge for the TV week Logie’s “most outstanding” and “life time achievement” awards. Glen regularly directs theatre productions at professional and co-op level as well as many student productions. His recent directing credits include The Removalists at the Tap Gallery and Corporate Vibes for Pursuit Productions.
As a working artist Glen is highly dedicated to the individual student and has an infectious passion for facilitating growth in actors and for developing their discoveries and unique talents. His approach is one of nurture and challenge, with an individual focus. Glen has taught The Actors Lab here at Darlo Drama since 2009, as well as The Ensemble Showcase.
